Balvenie 25 is aged in a combination of American oak & European oak barrels coopered to Balvenie’s specifications by their onsite cooper. Containing some of their local barley malted on their malt floors, these casks were selected by David Stewart, one of the longest serving Malt Masters in the industry. At 25 years Balvenie shows fruity notes, spice, caramelised sugars and all sorts of other complex characteristics.
Official Tasting Notes
Nose – Soft autumn fruits, runny honey, crystallised ginger and raw sugar cane. An underlying rich oakiness creates complexity and structure.
Palate – The initial bold vanilla oak flavours slowly dissipate to reveal layers of toasted marshmallows, fresh fruit and cinnamon infused apple tart.
