QUICK FIRE DRAM | Port Charlotte 10 Year Old!
Bruichladdich have been admirably transparent in their description of this release, the first permanent 10 year old expression from PC. The cask make up has 65% 1st Fill American oak, 10% 2nd fill American casks, and 25% 2nd fill French Wine Casks. Being Port Charlotte, the peating level is 40ppm, and it is a welcome addition to their core range. Two other developments to admire are the green glass bottle (trad Islay style!) and a toning down of the tasting notes; barbeque smokiness, rich and spicy with sweet malty notes sums it up without the past pretension.
